Eureka Music Center announces a Christmas song contest for the 2020 holiday season. There are two ways for participants to enter the contest.

The first requires contestants to write an original Christmas song and submit a recording of a performance of the song in either audio or video formats. Prizes will be awarded for the best entry based on decision of the judges and community response to the entry.

The second requires contestants to perform a song from a list of approved Christmas songs and then submit a recording of a performance of the song in either audio or video formats. Prizes will be awarded for the best entry based on decision of the judges and community response to the entry.

Entries that pass the initial round of inspection will be posted on Eureka Music Center’s social media outlets including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube, Google, and our website. Public support of the entries will be encouraged and contribute significantly to choosing the winners. All participants understand that by submitting an entry, they have agreed to have their performance posted on social media in order to participate. Original song entries must not have been published prior to submission for this contest. Only one entry per person is allowed.

Entries that do not qualify for entry will be discarded with no further notification. Approved entries will only be notified if they are the winner of a category or have received honorable mention based on the decision of the judges and community support.

Rules for Entry

The contest rules are simply to submit a recording of either a performance of an original Christmas song composition or submit a recording of a performance of a Christmas song from an approved list of songs. All musical styles are welcome. Instrumental only arrangements are also welcome. This contest is open to all ages.

The recorded performance can be submitted in either audio or video formats. Size limitations may prohibit an entry from being received by email so contestants should try to keep the file size of the entry to a limit of 10 Mb or less if the entry is to be sent to us at eurekamusiccenter@yahoo.com. Entries for larger file sizes can be received via Dropbox or Google Drive or other cloud storage and file transfer method.

CDs and DVD entries can be mailed or dropped off at Eureka Music Center – 149 Eureka Towne Center Drive, Eureka MO 63025. All entries must be received no later than November 18, 2020. Contestants must also provide contact details such as name, address, phone, and email to be eligible for entry into the contest.

An announcement regarding prizes is coming soon pending a few final details to be completed. Stay tuned for more information.
