Student String Quartets at Eureka Music

Eureka Music announces auditions for student string quartets forming for the fall.

Students interested in participating have a few requirements to meet before they will be considered for audition.
  • must be able to read notation in the 1st position on all strings
  • must be able to read one octave in D major and G major scales
  • must be able to understand and play 8th notes and rests
  • must be able to do basic bowing technique such as slurs and basic articulation markings
  • must be comfortable with all the playing requirements

Sessions will start in the fall with each session being $18 for a 45 minute weekly session. Payment is due by the month so it will be $72 a month per player.

Students will be grouped by skill and age level. Minimum grade level considered is 5th grade as long as other requirements are met.

Our music instructor, Kevin O'Connor, will form and lead the quartets. Kevin has taught at Eureka Music for nearly two decades and has taught hundreds of string students in the area.
